Frederick: It Is Time For The Games To End
Community Volunteer, Experienced Local Elected Official & CPA Announces for Kansas House
OVERLAND PARK: Terry Frederick, an Overland Park CPA and tax professional, has filed to run
as a Republican for Kansas House District 48.
"My family and I chose to live in Overland Park because of the tremendous quality of life and
great opportunities that are available for all of us here. Our district deserves a representative
who is totally committed to us and our community. It's time for the games to end and for our
district to be represented by someone who lives here, will stay here and work tirelessly for
Overland Park in Topeka," Frederick stated.
Active and devoted to the community for decades, Frederick is a member of the Lions Club
service organization where he has served multiple times as President. Terry is an active
member and volunteer with his church. He previously served on the Shawnee Mission Theatre
in the Park Advisory Council. He was a board member and past president of the University of
Kansas Alumni Association Kansas City Chapter and graduated from Leadership Kansas and
Frederick also has extensive experience in local government in Johnson County, having served
on the Water One Board of Directors, including three terms as Chair. Frederick was the
Republican nominee in House District 48 in 2020 after having lived in Overland Park where he
has lived with his family since 2004.
"Being effective in Topeka is about building relationship, studying the issues and learning the
process. Our district has been turned into nothing more than a chess piece in a partisan
political fight and our community has paid the price. I want to go to Topeka to fight for the
people I represent and help improve their lives - not just be a rubber stamp for my political
party and then move out," added Frederick.
Frederick has been a Johnson County resident for over 40 years and as a CPA and tax advisor
has spent decades working for Arthur Andersen, Kansas City Southern and Sprint. Currently, he
owns his own small business and partners with Barnwell Consulting as a CPA.
Terry and his wife, Karen, are the proud parents of three sons with two currently attending the
University of Kansas and their youngest is attending Kansas State University.
